¹ For David.

Let my life-force honor Yahweh,

and all within me, His holy name!

² Let my life-force honor Yahweh,

and not forget all His kindness:

³ Who forgives all your crimes,

ministers to all your ailments,

⁴ reclaims your life from the death-pit,

crowns you with loyal love and compassion,

⁵ sates you fully with good things,

renews your vigor like the eagle’s.

⁶ Yahweh achieves righteousness

and justice for all the oppressed,

⁷ makes known His words to Moses,

to Israel’s sons, all His actions.

⁸ Compassionate and gracious is Yahweh,

slow to anger and full of loyal love!

⁹ He does not always oppose us,

and He does not forever begrudge,

¹⁰ He does not treat us as befits our offenses,

nor engage us as befits our crimes.

¹¹ For as high are the heavens over the land,

His loyal love towers over His supplicants.

¹² As far as the eventide from the morning—

so far from us has He rendered our sins.

¹³ As a father’s compassion on his sons—

Yahweh’s compassion on His supplicants.

¹⁴ For He Himself knows our framework,

He recalls that we are dust.

¹⁵ Mankind is like the grass,

his days like a field-flower—

so he flourishes the same.

¹⁶ For the wind blows through and he is gone,

and is no longer known in his place.

¹⁷ But Yahweh’s loyal love is from forever

and unto forever toward His supplicants,

and His righteousness for their children’s children,

¹⁸ to uphold His pact

and to recall His precepts,

so as to do them.

¹⁹ Yahweh in the heavens is firmly enthroned,

and His kingdom reigns over all.

²⁰ Honor Yahweh, all His heralds,

mighty in power, doers of His word,

who listen to the sound of His word.

²¹ Honor Yahweh, all His armies,

His ministrants who work His goodwill.

²² Honor Yahweh, all His works,

in every corner of His kingdom.

Honor Yahweh, O my life-force!
