1 For the music-director, for Korah’s sons, in the higher register, a song.
2 Our God is to us a refuge and strength,
a sustainer in straits to always be found.
3 Therefore we will not quail,
though the earth be warped,
the mountains wrung into the seas’ heart,
4 their waters surge and seethe,
the mountains shudder in the tumult.
Selâ.
5 A river whose rills delight the city of God,
the holy dwellings of Most-high!
6 God is amidst her; she will not shudder.
God will sustain her by dawn’s first light.
7 Nations surged; kingdoms shudder!
He unleashed His voice; the earth collapses!
8 Yahweh of Armies with us!
Stronghold for us, Godhead of Jacob!
Selâ.
9 Go, witness Yahweh’s wonder-working:
Who wreaks ruin on the earth,
10 Who quells battles to the ends of the earth;
the long-bow He shatters,
and snaps the spear-shaft;
the war-wains He burns with fire.
11 “Silence! Know that I am God.
I will be uplifted in the nations,
I will be uplifted in the earth.”
12 Yahweh of Armies with us!
Stronghold for us, Godhead of Jacob!
Selâ.
